FAQ

smallmuseums

What is this group?
In 2018, a group of small museums, primarily in the Loop, started working together to become more visible in Chicago’s cultural landscape. The Chicago Association of Specialized Museums (CASM) is the formal organization that evolved out of this effort.

Who is in CASM?
CASM members must exhibit in some way.  All current members are listed here.

What does CASM do?
The group works together to promote each other, and to raise awareness of less well-known cultural experiences in Chicago. Everyone knows about Giordano’s, but what about that neighborhood pizza joint that’s absolutely amazing, but you have to be in the know about? We are those amazing joints, and we’re working together so more people are in the know.

Where are you guys?
All over Chicago! Check out the map on the About page for more information on our locations.

I want more information, what do I do?
If you’re looking for more information about a member, please direct inquiries to those institutions specifically. You’ll likely find that contact information on their websites that you can find here. If you’re looking for more information about CASM, please contact info@culturelikealocal.org.

Is CASM growing?
Yes, we are looking to add members. Interested in joining? Fill out this Google Form to let us know. Please continue to visit the site to see what new organizations have joined!
